What VidMate Web is
VidMate became popular on Android because one app could pull videos from dozens of sites. VidMate Web is the browser version of that idea: you paste a link, the server reads the post, and you get the actual video file in the best quality the platform stores. There is nothing to install, and it works the same on an Android phone, an iPhone, a laptop or a smart TV browser.
The page above handles every supported site from the same box. You do not have to pick the platform first; the link itself tells the server whether it is a TikTok, a Reel, a tweet or a Likee clip.

What the three buttons mean
Download HD gives you the sharpest version the post has. On TikTok that is often an H.265 (HEVC) file: it looks better than the H.264 version and is usually smaller, but a few older Windows PCs need the free HEVC extension from the Microsoft Store to play it.
Download is the normal-quality file, normally H.264 at 480p–576p. It plays on every device made in the last ten years, which makes it the safe pick for sharing on WhatsApp or keeping on an old phone.
Download MP3 pulls out only the sound and saves it as a 192 kbps MP3. If a post has no audio track at all (some Facebook Reels and GIF-style posts are silent), you will see a short message instead of an empty file.
How it works behind the button
- Your link goes to our server, which opens the post the same way a browser would and reads the list of available video files.
- The server picks the best file for each button and creates a private download address that lasts 10 minutes.
- When you tap a button, the file streams from the platform through our server to you. Instagram and Pinterest store sound and picture separately or in small chunks; in those cases the server joins them into one normal MP4 on the fly, without re-compressing anything.
Nothing is saved on our side, and you do not need an account.
Saving on different devices
- Android (Chrome): the file lands in the Downloads folder and shows up in Gallery or Files within a few seconds.
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): Safari asks to download, then keeps the file in Files › Downloads. Open it there and use Share › Save Video to move it into Photos.
- Windows and Mac: the browser saves to your Downloads folder. Right-click the file to open it with VLC if the built-in player complains about H.265.
When a link does not work
Most failures fall into a few groups: the account is private, the post was deleted, the video is blocked in our server’s region, or the link points to a profile instead of a single post. Open the link in a private browser window without logging in; if you cannot see the video there, no downloader can reach it either. For TikTok and Likee, always use the Share › Copy link button in the app rather than copying from the address bar.
Please only download videos you have the right to keep, such as your own uploads or clips the creator allows people to save.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the VidMate app?
No. This is a web downloader in the VidMate style that runs in your browser. The VidMate Android app is a separate program; our VidMate APK page lets you install this downloader as an app on Android, iPhone or PC.
Can I download YouTube videos here?
Yes. Paste any public YouTube, Shorts or youtu.be link to save it as a 1080p MP4, a 480p MP4 or an MP3. Paste one video at a time; channels and playlists aren't accepted.
Do you keep a copy of the videos I download?
No. The file passes from the platform through our server to your browser and is not written to disk. The temporary download link stops working after 10 minutes.
Can I download from a private account?
No. Only posts that anyone can open without logging in will work. Private accounts, close-friends stories and paid content are out of reach for any web downloader.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can save?
There is no daily cap. To keep the service fast for everyone, one connection can start about 12 lookups per minute; if you hit that, wait a minute and continue.
