About sound quality
SoundCloud streams most public tracks to listeners at 128 kbps (MP3, or AAC in a stream). It does not hand out the uploader’s original WAV or FLAC file unless the artist has turned on the official Download button on the track page. Our server converts the stream into a 192 kbps MP3, which is a widely compatible format, but converting cannot add detail that was not in the 128 kbps stream.
If the track page shows a Download button of its own, use it. That file is the artist’s original upload and will always sound better than any converted copy.
Copying the link
- App: open the track, tap the three dots or Share, then Copy link.
- Browser: open the track page and copy the address bar. Remove any
?in=…part only if the link fails; normally it is ignored.
What does not work
- Private tracks (unless you have the secret link and the track allows it).
- Go+ (subscription) tracks, which are previews for non-subscribers.
- Playlists, sets and artist pages.
Artists earn from plays on SoundCloud. Download tracks that are free to download or that you have permission to keep.
Download SoundCloud tracks as MP3
- Under the track tap Share › Copy link (the app gives an
on.soundcloud.comlink). - Paste it into this SoundCloud to MP3 converter.
- Tap Download MP3 to save a 192 kbps file.
On a computer open the track’s own page and copy the address bar. Playlist and profile links aren’t supported; open one track at a time.

Frequently asked questions
What bitrate are the SoundCloud MP3 files?
The file is saved at 192 kbps, but the sound quality can't be better than what SoundCloud streams, which for most tracks is 128 kbps MP3 or AAC.
Can I download Go+ tracks?
No. Go+ tracks only play a 30-second preview to visitors who are not subscribed, so only that preview would be available.
Do on.soundcloud.com links work?
Yes. on.soundcloud.com is SoundCloud's short-link domain and is followed to the full track page.
Can I download a whole playlist?
No, one track per link for now.
Is this SoundCloud to MP3 converter free?
Yes. Download SoundCloud tracks as MP3 for free, without an account and without installing anything.
Why is my SoundCloud MP3 only 30 seconds?
It is a SoundCloud Go+ track. Logged-out listeners only get a 30-second preview of those, so that is all any SoundCloud downloader can save.
