This Twitter video downloader (now the X video downloader) saves videos and GIFs from public posts on x.com and twitter.com. Paste the post link and choose the highest resolution X stores, a smaller version for messaging apps, or MP3 audio.
Saving video from posts on X
Open the post that contains the video, copy its address and paste it above. A post link has the form x.com/username/status/1234567890123456789; the long number is the post ID and is the part that matters. Links copied from the old twitter.com domain behave exactly the same.
Features of this X (Twitter) video downloader
- Download Twitter videos in HD: 720p, and 1080p for newer uploads.
- Twitter GIF download as MP4, the format X actually stores.
- Works with x.com, twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com links.
- Twitter to MP3 for podcasts clips and music.
- No X account required.
Qualities X offers
X encodes each uploaded video into several fixed sizes. For a typical landscape clip you will see something like:
| Version | Resolution | Bitrate (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 480×270 | 256 kbps |
| Medium | 640×360 | 832 kbps |
| High | 1280×720 | 2,176 kbps |
| Full HD (newer uploads) | 1920×1080 | 10 Mbps |
Download HD gives you the largest one, Download a middle size around 360p–480p that is easy to send on messaging apps.
Copying the link
- X app: tap the Share icon under the post, then Copy link.
- Browser: click the post’s time stamp to open it on its own page, then copy the address bar.
If a post quotes another post with a video, open the quoted post first and copy its link; the downloader reads the video of the post you paste, not the one it quotes.
Things that do not work
- Posts from protected (locked) accounts.
- Posts that X marks as sensitive and hides from logged-out visitors.
- Deleted posts, or posts whose video was removed after a copyright claim.
Download clips for personal reference and respect the original poster’s rights.
Download Twitter videos on phone and PC

Download X videos in the best quality
When you download X videos here, the Twitter video downloader lists the sizes X stores, from 480×270 up to 1280×720 or 1920×1080, and HD always picks the largest. Nothing is upscaled: a clip uploaded in 720p stays 720p.
Twitter GIF downloads
X converts every Twitter GIF into a small silent MP4. That’s why this X downloader gives you an MP4 rather than a .gif file: it is smaller and sharper, and WhatsApp and Telegram loop it automatically like a GIF.
Why use a Twitter downloader?
Posts get deleted, accounts get suspended, and videos vanish from timelines. A Twitter downloader lets you keep news clips, interviews and your own posts as files you control. The MP3 option saves only the audio of speeches and podcasts.
No login is needed and we never store the videos you download with the Twitter video downloader.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with x.com and twitter.com links?
Yes. Both domains point to the same posts, and mobile.twitter.com links work too.
Why does a GIF download as an MP4?
X never stores real GIF files. Animated GIFs are short silent MP4 videos, so that is what you get. The MP3 option is not useful for them.
Can I download videos from protected accounts?
No. Posts from protected accounts are only visible to approved followers.
What about Spaces or live broadcasts?
Spaces are audio rooms and are not supported. Broadcasts can sometimes be saved after they end.
Is this Twitter video downloader free?
Yes. Download Twitter videos and GIFs for free with no X account, no app and no daily limit.
Can I download videos from X with an x.com link?
Yes. The Twitter video downloader accepts x.com, twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com post links.
